How do I know if my facility is suitable for the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer?
We recommend you carry out a simple site survey to ensure your facility is suitable. Ask yourself these questions:
- The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer are the following sizes: A01: (H) 640mm x (W) 305mm x (D) 250mm, A03: (H) 663mm x (W) 307mm x (D) 247mm and require 50mm clearance on either side. Will there be sufficient room for the Airblade™ hand dryer?
- Is the location free of obstructions such as opening doors to allow easy access to the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer?
- The product will be mounted at between 800mm to 1m height and needs at least 210 mm of clearance underneath – will there be sufficient clear space underneath?
- Is there a mains supply switch fuse within an arms length of the intended location?
- Are the wall surfaces flat and able to bear loads of up to 16kg?

The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryers are the following sizes: A01: (H) 642mm x (W) 303mm x (D) 248mm, A03: (H) 663mm x (W) 307mm x (D) 247mm and need 50mm clearance on either side.
What type of wall surface does the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer require?
The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer must be mounted on walls which are flat and structurally suitable for the weight and size of a Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer. It is not recommended that the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer is positioned on weak plasterboard walls.
How much does the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer weigh?
The aluminium Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer (A01) weighs 14.5kg. The boxed weight of the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer is 17.5kg. The PC-ABS Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer (A03) weighs 10Kg with a boxed weight of 13Kg.
What are the electrical requirements?
Check that the electrical supply corresponds to that shown on the rating plate before attempting installation.
Electrical supply characteristics: 230-240 V, 50 Hz AC. Rated operating electrical load: 1600 W.
The electrical supply intended for use with the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer should provide all-pole disconnection under over-voltage category III conditions in accordance with UK IEE regulations or equivalent local codes or regulations.
A dedicated switched fuse spur should be used for installation of each Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer.
The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer should be connected to the electricity supply using flexible round PVC insulated three core cable with a conductor cross sectional area of 1.5mm2. Do not use any other size of cable. All wiring used must be in accordance with the current IEE regulations or equivalent local codes or regulations.
The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer must be earthed.
